Paola Niuska Quilici
Born in France in 1992, fine art student living in Paris.
Through video and various medias combined into sculptures, she questions the status of image which she often uses as a pretext for the artwork itself.
Therefore she considers the image commutable regarding it’s demonstrations protocol sustaining that the frame of a picture is the metaphorical place where lies the meaning and intent of this very picture.
Thus the forms she produces are meant to dethrone the image in favor of the impression, the memory, the feeling it procures, so that the focus leaves the picture and aims for it’s « frame ».
Douna lim & Paola Quilici met in 2010 before they entered Fine Arts school.
Since then they occasionally worked together on various projects involving video, photography, and installation.
Their respective concerns naturally combine and emulate through their analogous aesthetics.
