Isabelle Maitre

Isabelle Maitre is a French musician, writer and composer based in Paris, France.
She grew up in the south pacific area, between French Polynesia, New Caledonia and Australia, where she learned how to sing and play the piano.
While attending studies in Paris, at Maximilien Vox School of applied arts and the school of the Paris couture syndicate, she collected old synthesizers and instruments.
She now performs some music live acts and she releases records on the Parisian Label Antinote, since 2012.
In 2016 she started exploring different musical technics collaborating with other musician artists and film-makers. Her searches lead her to a piece called « a soundtrack to a non-existent film »* which is a complex collage of sounds recorded all over the world.
Her music is a surrealistic travel through time, space and dimension. Without any genre or language boundaries, sounds and voices seem to melt. They lose their first identity, but also create a room for the listener’s feelings and interpretation. From this liquefaction Maitre observes vertigo of emotions and delivers the testimony of an intangible world.
