Pre-BIWAKO Biennial 2025 “流転 - Flux” in 2024
*The works in the video are digests from the BIWAKO Biennale 2022.
We will hold a pre-exhibition to lead up to next year’s theme, “Flux”.
We will present a space fused with the world of powerful scanning electron microscope photographs by Kikoh Matsuura, who has decorated the main visuals in 2020 and 2022.
In addition, the collaboration of artists Hiromi Uno and Shinpei Kawai, who have received favorable reviews for their workshops, will unveil the culmination of their work, including the work of workshop participants.
In a collaborative exhibition by Tsutomu Atsumi and Maro Monto (Kyoto University team), a large-scale work using reeds, a natural material representative of Omi Hachiman, will be displayed outdoors. Conceived through workshops with children from the free school “since” (Azuchi-cho), and with the cooperation of the non-profit organization Maruyoshi (Maruyama-cho), which is dedicated to the utilization and preservation of reeds, visitors will enjoy an exhibit that condenses the charm of Omi Hachiman.
