《Venue 1》PAGIC Gallery: Solo exhibition of Miki Sachiko, "Any way the wind blows".

Miki Sachiko is deeply drawn to the human form and continues to create works based on this fascination.
Her focus is not merely on outward appearance, but on the invisible realms of consciousness, memory, and experience that closely intertwine and influence each other.
Through Miki’s observations, the visible and invisible images of the human being overlap and harmonize, or conversely, highlight gaps between the body and what it contains.
Even elements that may seem separate at first glance reveal deep connections upon closer look.
In this exhibition, she captures the human form through such multifaceted sketches, viewing it as part of a larger flow of “life.” She incorporates new perspectives and materials into her work.
This strongly resonates with the theme of “BIWAKO Biennale 2025 – Flux”, representing an ongoing exploration of human existence amid the flowing passage of time.
《Venue 2》Otherside Gallery: Solo exhibition of Ehashira Makoto, "Catch and take".

At Otherwise Gallery, we present “Catch and take,” a solo exhibition by Egashira Makoto. This exhibition is held as a pre-exhibition of the BIWAKO Biennale 2025, organized with the cooperation of the Biennale.
In this show, Egashira Makoto unveils a new installation featuring materials such as floral-patterned blankets and household items that blend nostalgia with a sense of the absurd. His unique works explore the blurred boundaries between everyday life and memory.
Within the gallery space, creatures made of blankets appear, carrying an oddly nostalgic yet strange presence. Some are hung, some quietly dangle fishing lines, and at times, they seem to move as if responding to the viewer’s presence. The entire space is scattered with fragments of stories, forming a mysterious landscape where author’s memories and imagination intersect.
The title “Catch and take” references the fishing culture term “catch and release” but reflects changes in how we relate to “things,” “memories,” and “others” in modern society. Beneath its humorous and charming appearance lies the artist’s complex questioning, weaving together layers of past and present, acceptance and rejection, individual and society.
Step into this whimsical, dreamlike space and leave with a fresh perspective on shifting values and the things we tend to forget.
