MESSAGE

We find the venues of the Biwako Biennale deeply inspiring. Each visit to the exhibition spaces stimulates our imagination, and new ideas for artworks naturally begin to take shape and evolve.

In previous editions of the Biennale, we created works using materials such as hemp thread, plants, textiles, roof tiles (kawara), and washi paper—drawing from the objects and sounds we encountered on-site, or expressing the passage of time that seemed to flow through each space.

For the upcoming BB, we are genuinely excited to discover what new works will emerge, and what meaningful encounters await us.
