Artist statement
Drawing inspirations from a wide variety of traditional elements from Japan and overseas, I creates contemporary ceramic designs influenced by everyday life. My interest in the mythological stories began from my teens when I explored the roots of ceramics as part of my quest to transcend the conventional notions of traditional crafts. By stylizing patterns and dragons from traditional crafts, I emphasizes the motifs within these designs, bringing mythological narratives into relief. In my porcelain pieces painted in blue colors, delicate paintings and charming motifs show humor with a touch of darkness.
