PROFILE

Paola Niuska Quilic [France]

Paola Niuska Quilici is a French artist and poet of Polish and Venezuelan descent, born in 1992. She completed her master’s degree from the École Nationale Supérieure d’Arts de Paris-Cergy in 2016 and exhibited her work in solo shows as well as in group exhibitions. She published her first poetry collection in 2023 and the second is to be published in 2026.Paola Niuska Quilici develops a visual language at the intersection of abstraction and symbolism, where shapes and materials emerge in a tension between chance and determinism. Her work explores perception and the collective unconscious through processes akin to divinatory practices: dyes, photograms, inks, and pigments reveal emerging patterns that assert themselves as much as they elude, sometimes as symbols, sometimes as signs. Her works invite a floating, intuitive attention, akin to that of a psychoanalyst, where the shift in meaningful potentialities relies on the viewer. This logic of indeterminacy also runs through her poetic practice, intrinsically linked to her visual work. In this organic approach to language and image, she explores buried archetypes and their contemporary resonance.
