PROFILE
SHU Da [China]
From China.Graduated from the Master’s program at Musashino Art University. In Spring 2025, I earned a Ph.D. at Kyoto City University of Arts.I am captivated by the boundaries where matter, time, and space intersect, dedicating my practice to exploring their subtle imprints. My creative work centers on the “Potential State of Shell Shedding” series, where I skillfully employ a diverse range of media—including sculpture, installation, video, and drawing—to fuse historical artifacts (such as worm-eaten marks on scriptures from two centuries ago) with contemporary materials like industrially processed, transparent synthetic sapphire waste, capturing the compressed unfolding of time and space.Furthermore, through collaborative endeavors with experts and artisans from fields such as architecture, music, and folklore, I offer fresh perspectives on the traces of time etched into matter and the transformative nature of space.
