Ken+Julia Yonetani [Japan/Australia]

Ken + Julia Yonetani is a Japanese-Australian contemporary artist duo. They are especially known for their large-scale installations that make use of material such as salt, sugar, uranium glass, soil, rice, etc., to address environmental issues. The artists often base their work on interviews with scientists and careful research. Major exhibitions include the Venice Biennale (they represented Australia in 2009), the Singapore Biennale (2013), their solo exhibition at the Musée d'Art Contemporain Abbey de Movison in France (2014), the North Ibaraki Art Festival (2016), the Honolulu Biennale (2017), their solo exhibition at the Australian National Gallery of Art (2015), the Mori Art Museum MAM Collection (2019), the Asia Society Triennale NYC (2020), and their solo exhibition at the Kadokawa Musashino Museum (2020-2021).microbiome, and the breakdown in balance of numerous ecosystems, including inside the human body. They have an organic farm and studio in Kyoto, Japan.
